Local roundup: Senior softball team advances

For the past several months, Henderson County’s Senior Softball League’s 60-plus team has been competing in the Clayton League, fighting for the championship.

On Wednesday, the 60-plus team, sponsored by Humana, earned two wins over Lake Keowee Kings by scores of 24-4 and 21-14 in the final games of pool play at Parker Meadows Complex in Franklin.

With the wins, the Henderson County team advances to the Championship Bracket, which will begin on Oct. 28.

Linda Brooks aced hole No 15 on Sunday at Crooked Creek Golf Club. She used a 5-hybrid on the 120-yard shot itnessed by Larry Demas. Adrian Morava and Kathy Uptain.
